What to do when you have a roofing emergency

It is that time of year again when the weather is ever-changing in the DMV area, and, as such, springtime storms tend to come around and turn things upside down.

At Colonial Remodeling, LLC we know that sometimes all it takes is one rough storm to cause a roofing emergency. That is why we’re prepared to help walk you through whatever issues may arise.

What Incidents are Considered Roofing Emergencies?

Your roof is the most protective layer of your home, so any incident that makes the roof more vulnerable is a cause for immediate concern. This includes a tree falling onto the roof (even if it appears there was no penetration to the roof), wind causing shingles to either fly off or buckle, or leaks of any size.

What do I do When I have a Roofing Emergency?

If your home has had a tree fall on top of it, that is grounds for calling 911 to have the tree removed and inspected immediately as this can cause a fire. Afterward, as with all other emergencies, be sure to reach out to your roofing company to have them make repairs as soon as possible so you don’t find yourself with lasting damage.

In some instances, your insurance company may help pay for the damages, and Colonial Remodeling is happy to help you with that. And remember, all of our roofs come with an amazing warranty policy to protect you! Read more about that here.

However, the most important thing to remember is to remain calm and remember that your friends at Colonial Remodelling, LLC have your back!
