HardieTrim® Boards: Features and Benefits

Your trim is a critical component of your exterior. The right kind of trim makes a big difference in terms of your home’s beauty, energy efficiency and protection against water damage. As the areas only James Hardie® Elite Preferred siding contractor, let Colonial Remodeling share with you some of the features and benefits of HardieTrim® boards.

Extremely Durable

Trim is typically made from oriented strand board (OSB) and wood composites, which have the tendency to crack, expand and buckle over years of exposure to the elements. Trim is more than a decorative component; it covers transitions between the wall opening and window (and door) frames. As such, it needs to be as durable and weather-resistant as the siding itself.

HardieTrim boards perfectly complement James Hardie siding products. This high-quality trim is made with fiber cement, and therefore has the same qualities that make James Hardie the leading siding replacement provider in the market. It resists extreme heat and cold, can withstand impact from hailstones and windborne debris, and delivers exceptional longevity.

Complements Any Home Style

HardieTrim boards work in any architectural style or home design. You can choose from different textures, like the Rustic option, which features a raised texture that mimics wood, or the Smooth option, which looks great on contemporary architecture. James Hardie also offers HardieTrim for specialty applications like batten boards and crown molding.

Remains Beautiful for Many Years

Just like all other James Hardie products including the popular HardiePlank® lap siding, HardieTrim boards feature ColorPlus® Technology, a unique, factory-applied color system that uses up to 50% more coats of paint than the average exterior paint product. The coating is then baked-on, which enhances resistance to peeling, chipping and cracking. ColorPlus Technology is also formulated for resistance to UV rays, which helps the colors remain vibrant throughout their lifespan. Finally, HardieTrim requires minimal maintenance; just like other James Hardie siding products, it never requires scraping or repainting. All you need is water and a soft brush to keep it clean.
