3 Ply Gem® Steel Siding Options for Your Home

Ply Gem® steel siding products are built to last a lifetime, and they come in various styles to suit your taste. Today, Colonial Remodeling discusses the benefits you can enjoy from investing in steel siding for your home remodeling project.

Seamless Steel Siding

Seamless steel siding is made from rugged 28-gauge G60 hot-dipped galvanized steel. It’s durable and extra thick, enabling the siding to resist dents and withstand extreme temperature changes. It can also stand up to a maximum of 235 mph winds. With its five-layer armored defense, seamless steel siding is protected against rust, insects, moisture and mildew.

Steel Board and Batten Siding

Steel board and batten siding is exceptionally strong, as it’s also made from hot-dipped galvanized steel. Like seamless steel siding, it has a five-layer, low-gloss finish that serves as protection against rust, moisture, mildew and insects. Expect an easy, straightforward siding installation process thanks to this product’s hold-tight mechanism and superior tensile strength.

Steel Lap Siding

Like the two other steel siding products from Ply Gem, steel lap siding is manufactured from hot-dipped galvanized steel. It is dent-resistant and can withstand extreme temperature changes and up to 235 mph winds. It is also equipped with a proprietary, five-layer protective finish that prevents corrosion and repels moisture and mildew. Steel lap siding requires minimal upkeep, while providing superior weatherability and color retention. Apart from being strong and durable, it’s also recyclable.
